Football, Football, Football

Donovan wants to play tackle football, and I am not nearly as excited about the prospect of him playing as Daniel is, but that may not matter as it doesn't appear that he will be eligible to play. For his age division, he has to be between 75 and 125 pounds, and Donovan is quite a bit under 75 pounds. So we are checking to see if he can play in the next divison down, but if they refuse then his only option for football is flag football. Donovan doesn't want to do either, he doesn't want to play with kids younger than he is and he doesn't want to play flag, so he may not get to play this year. We will keep you posted.

The Stitches are Out!

Natalie got her stitches out yesterday, she is really such a brave little girl, she didn't even cry. Her doctor also ran some tests to see if she is a strep carrier, as many of you know we have had several bouts with strep in the past months, so we are looking at all of the things that might be causing this for Natalie, since she is the only one who seems to ever get it. We should know something soon.

Natalie's Mishap

Natalie had a small mishap yesterday, she was playing at a friends house and they have two small dogs, one is a couple months old and the other is an older dog, Natalie was trying to hug on the puppy and the older dog got protective thinking Natalie was trying to hurt the puppy and bit her. Yes, the dog is up to date on its shots, No, it is not generally an agressive dog, and Yes, Natalie is doing okay. She had asked while we were in Urgent Care that I take pictures of her boo-boo so that she could see it, so I did and thought I would share. The first picture is shortly after we got there, as you see, no tears, just a little bored. The second picture is after they told her that she would need a shot before she got stiches and so she was crying and they brought her a green popsicle, so we had to take a picture of her green tounge to stop the tears, and the last picture is after she got her stiches. She ended up with 11 stiches, but she was really great through the whole process. She didn't cry except when they told her she was getting a shot, since she just got her well baby shots and she knew she didn't like shots, and when they irrigated the wound and put the shots into the cuts so that they could do the stiches. We are proud of our little trooper and are thankful that it wasn't any worse. If you see Natalie in the coming weeks while this is still very visible, we would only ask that you not make a big deal of it, as we don't want her to have any self image issues over it, after talking with the doctors we have every hope that this will heal nicely and that within time there will be no significant scarring, but for the next few weeks it will look worse than it is. I'm sure that Natalie will be milking this for all it is worth over the next couple of days, she has after all already gotten two popsicles before dinner, some chicken nuggets from Wendy's and a milkshake, next thing you know and she will be asking for that kitten that Daniel promised her last week.

The kids and I got to paint the lion in Azalea Park this weekend. We contacted the lady that is responsible for the lion and mentioned that we would like to paint him for summer and poof, he is now enjoying the summer in his bermuda shorts, snorkle mask and fins.

Daddy Summer Camp, Day 2

Donovan, Daniel and my Dad went fishing yesterday while Natalie hung out with her Nana. Everyone had a great time, and Donovan was very proud that he caught the biggest fish of the day.

Dad's Summer Camp, Day 1

So with Daniel's work schedule he is going to get to spend alot more time with the kids this summer. He is planning on being with the kids on Monday and Tuesday all day, and Wednesday and Thursday he will be with them until he goes to work at 2pm when they will go to stay with a girl that we have found here in the county to watch them, and on Friday they will stay with Dad til Mom gets home from work around 12:45. So we are calling this Dad's Summer Camp, since they will be doing all sorts of fun stuff with Dad. Anyway, now that you have a little background, here are the activities for Day 1. Daniel and the kids went to Wakulla Springs to ride the boats and go swimming, I have to say, I am a little jealous, but I am glad they are having so much fun together already.

First Weekend of Summer

Well, the kids finished this school year on Friday, so we had our first official weekend of the summer break. We kicked it off right, we spent most of our time in the pool and grilling out. I have found that I can swim with the kids for a while, get out, start the grill, do some weeding in the flower beds, put the food on the grill, water down all the flowers, remove the food from the grill and put it in the microwave to keep it warm, and jump back in the pool with the kids and they never even notice I'm gone. But it has been a busy last week, so I haven't been blogging as much, hopefully with the summer will come more to blog about.
