Is it Halloween again already?

We took the kids to Beef O'Brady's last night for dinner and they do face painting and free kids meals, so the kids got to get their faces painted. Donovan had his washed off before I could get a picture, but here is our girly girl Natalie all painted like a vampire, guess we shouldn't have let them watch Twilight, she now wants to be a vampire, silly girl.

Rain, Rain and more Rain

Last week we got an absolutely drenching rain storm. This is what I came home to, this is our driveway that afternoon after the rain had stopped for a couple hours. We were very lucky, by the next day, the water had pretty much all gone and we didn't have any major flooding, but I can't say the same for others here in town, some folks are still having trouble from too much water.

Getting an early start

Is it just me, or are these kids learning computers so much earlier these days. I snapped this one of Natalie at the public library the other day as she was playing on the computer, and let me just say that she set it up and started playing all by herself while I was looking for some books. It just amazes me how quickly they learn how to do things now.

A/B Honor Roll

Now that's an A/B Honor Roll kid right there. We are so proud of Donovan for making A/B Honor roll last 9 weeks. He really worked hard to bring his grades up from the previous report card. Way to Go Donovan!

More Family Portraits

I am pretty sure that Pam may kill me for this, but she, Carra, Desirea and Ethan came over the other weekend and let me test out my lighting equipment. So of course I had to share.

Riley - The soccer player

The kids and I went to Riley's first soccer game a couple weeks ago. But Aunt Vickie has been an awful poster, so I am just now getting these up. She made a spectacular goal in the first half of the game. She is really a good little soccer player, she is always ready to run for the ball and doesn't seem to be afraid of taking it away either. Way to go Riley!

New Equipment

I got some new lighting equipment for my photography business and decided to test it out last night with the kids. It is a portable studio and I am hoping that it will get quite a bit of use over the coming months. Here are a few of the test shots we got last night goofing around.

An afternoon of squirrel hunting

As usual, when Daniel takes me and the kids hunting, I bring along my camera. This was the first real chance I have had to test out my new lens. It was great, very very cold, but alot of fun. We got a whopping 3 squirrels, mostly because we sounded like a herd of cattle running through the woods, so they knew we were coming for a mile before we got there. But we knew that going into it, this is not our first hunting walk with the kids, and it is worth every minute that they are out there with us.

New Years Shopping Day with Mom

While the boys were hunting, Natalie and I decided to do a little shopping. We had a nice girls lunch at Barnabys and while we waiting for lunch Natalie went loose in the game room. Then while washing our hands, I turn around to catch her "fluffing" her hair in the hand dryer, the kids things do when we aren't looking.

Opposum in Trouble

Daniel found this little guy in the woods with his head caught in this jar, he and Bert decided to set him free, Daniel took the back legs and Bert took the front, needless to say when they got him loose from the jar, the dropped him and hauled butt cause he was one mad little Opposum.

Daniel and Donovan along with Uncle Rich, killed this 5 pt on 01-02-2010. It was a great start to their day and it will be nice to add some more meat to the freezer.

Our New Years Eve New Additions

Daniel got two new puppies on New Years Eve, they are leopard curr mix and they are adorable. The kids named them Emma and Lucy, they are still getting used to things at the Whaley House and are really having a hard time figuring out the short furry thing we call Samson. Samson on the other hand has decided that they are not his cup of tea, but we are hoping with time he will come around.

Happy Birthday NANA!

This year Nana got a special suprise, a birthday party just for her at Uncle Bill and Auntie Chell's house. The menu was steak and Maine lobster, and was it ever yummy. The kids even decorated her a special bib to wear so she wouldn't get messy. Happy Birthday Nana, we love you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I didn't take many pictures Christmas morning, I opted for enjoying the time with Daniel and the kids instead. I did get a new playtoy, a tripod, that has been lots of fun to play around with. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve with Great Grandpa

We went to the nursing home Christmas Eve to spend some time with Great Grandpa and the rest of the Moffitt family, for those who don't know the Moffitt's are my Mom's side of the family. The kids had a great time, and learned quickly that Aunt Peggy can really wrap presents good. We had hoped for some Christmas lights afterwards, but the rain just wouldn't hold out for us, so we headed home for the Night Before Christmas story book and bed before Santa got to our house.

Christmas Dinner with Janice and Willie (Jancee and Wiggles)

Janice and Willie have been such a part of our family since we came home from the military, they kept Donovan from the time he was about 7 months old until he was about 7 and had Natalie from the time she was born until she was almost three, it has been like the kids have had another set of grandparents all these years. Well, every Christmas we all get together and this year Jancee, as the kids lovingly call her, brought some crafts for the kids to do. They decorated fabric so we could make pillows out of them, the kids had a great time. Wiggles even got in on the action and was helping the kids pick out some really cool stuff to put on their fabric.
