Donovan's First Night in Pitching Machine League

Donovan is officially out of "TBall", he started in the pitching machine league on Tuesday night. He did really well, it was an adjustment, as they are now playing "real" baseball, no more little kid rules to let everyone play. He was so proud that he caught a line drive to get one kid out, he is really catching on quick. He has another practice on Friday, then Monday and Wednesday of next week. I will get game schedules posted as soon as I have them.

Natalie's First TBall Practice

Natalie had her first official TBall practice last night. She did really well and had alot of fun. Tonight Donovan will start his pitching machine league and he is very excited. I will share some pics, probably not as many as I have of Natalie since he is getting to that age where Mom taking pictures is embarassing.

Gardening the Day Away

The kids helped Dan plant the cabbages yesterday. These were given to Donovan for some project at school, they are the 50 lb variety and we were told to leave about 4 ft between each plant. This should be alot of fun for the kids. It is still a little cool to plant watermelon, but those as well as the sunflowers will be coming soon.

TBall Season is Upon Us

This year Natalie and Donovan will be playing TBall and Daniel is still working nights, so we will be on the go for the next couple of months. We have Natalie's practice schedule and she has practices on Monday and Thursday nights for this week and next. Dan talked to Donovan's coach and he thinks they will be practicing tomorrow, but no official word yet. I will be sure to post their game schedules once we have them. And we will of course have lots of pictures to share.

Well, now we know how fast the Wakulla County Fire Dept responds

Daniel and I spent the weekend getting ready to plant our gardens. Yes that is plural, I have flower and herb gardens, the kids have their own watermellon and cabbage garden and then there is Daniel's garden, with so many different veggies, that I wouldn't even want to name each one. So Daniel decided that he needed to burn some of the underbrush around the garden area and between the wind and the size of the garden area, the fire got a little out of hand and got into the woods near our driveway, so we had to call the fire dept to come and put it out. It was very exciting for the kids, but I think we were just glad when it was all over. Luckily, there was no major damage to anything, it ended up we cleared some of the underbrush in the driveway and as Dan put it, he gave me something new to blog about. We are hoping for less exciting gardening experiences for the rest of the season.

The New Bicycling Enthusiast

Natalie is almost ready to lose her training wheels on her big girl bicycle. She is riding all over the place these days and we are all so proud of her for it.

Just for Brandi

1. Have you ever been on TV?
Not that I can remember, Dan was on one of those military family holiday greetings back in 1998 though.

2. Have you ever sung in public?
Yes...I used to love the Karaoke, so did Dan, I have pictures to prove it

3. Have you ever dyed your hair blonde?
Yeah, but it was naturally blonde for years before hand.

4. Have you ever eaten frogs’ legs?
Yes...and they DO taste like chicken. Greasy, yucky chicken. (I agree with Brandi on this one)

5. Have you ever received a present that you really hated?
REALLY HATED? Not that comes to mind, a few that weren't my favorites, but like a good girl I smiled and said thank you anyway, my Momma taught me right.

6. Have you ever walked into a lamp post?
Yeah, this would go back to question number 3 and that I am naturally a blonde, I've walked into manequines and sliding doors at a mall, but that is a longer story.

7. Have you ever cooked a meal by yourself for more than 15 people?
Yep, I love to cook

8. Have you ever fallen or stumbled in front of others?
OH Yes I have, lots of times.

9. Have you ever done volunteer work?
For many years, not much anymore, who has time to volunteer these days.
